🧭 Daily Decision Helper

Purpose

Answer one question quickly:

“What kind of day are we having, and where should we go?”

This page turns plans into action without debate.

Step 1 — Check Energy (Most Important)

Ask:

  • How do we feel right now?
  • How did yesterday feel?
  • Did we sleep well?

Choose one:

  • 🟢 Light — tired, jet lag, sore feet, low motivation
  • 🟡 Moderate — normal energy, curious, not rushed
  • 🔴 High — rested, excited, ready for crowds

If unsure → choose lighter.

Step 2 — Check Weather (Quick Look)

  • ☀️ Clear
  • 🌥️ Mixed
  • 🌧️ Rain

(Details live in Weather Routing Rules)

Step 3 — Identify Trip Phase

Where are we based today?

This limits choices automatically.

Step 4 — Choose Today’s Shape

If 🟢 Light Day

  • Stay near base
  • Choose one low-effort cluster
  • No fixed evening plans

Good options:

  • Ikebukuro
  • Ginza
  • Nakazakicho
  • Cafés, parks, shopping

If 🟡 Moderate Day

  • Choose one primary cluster
  • Add wandering or food
  • Optional ambient evening (vinyl bar)

Good options:

  • One Kyoto morning
  • One Tokyo neighborhood cluster
  • Osaka market + neighborhood

If 🔴 High-Energy Day

  • One standalone focus only
  • Everything else is secondary

Good options:

  • Universal Studios Japan
  • Strong Kyoto morning (early start)
  • Optional Tokyo day trip (Fuji or Nikko)

Recovery rules apply next day:

Step 5 — Lock the Decision

Once chosen:

  • Stop comparing options
  • Commit for the morning
  • Re-evaluate only at lunch

A half-day done well is a full success.

Reminders (Read If You Start Overthinking)

  • You do not need to maximize days
  • You do not need to see everything
  • Weather and energy outrank plans
  • Osaka and Tokyo are flexible by design
  • Kyoto rewards restraint
