These are different and matter:

Day Pass (Studio Pass):

  • Screenshots are NOT accepted — the ticket explicitly states this
  • Must show the original QR code from the KLOOK app or a printed copy of the PDF
  • Each person scans their own QR at the entrance gate
  • No re-entry once you exit the park

Express Pass:

  • Screenshots ARE accepted and recommended as backup
  • USJ says: “Recommended to capture and save this screen locally just in case”
  • Show entire screen to the crew member at each attraction entrance
  • Also non-refundable, non-changeable

JAWS status: Temporarily closed March 7–26 for maintenance — should be fully open April 13. Verify on the USJ app the week before. If unavailable, Jurassic Park - The Ride is the automatic fallback for Choice A.

Area Entry

The Express Pass includes timed area entry for Nintendo World (15:40–16:40 window). You do not need a separate app pass — the Express Pass handles it. Present QR at the Nintendo World gate.

Mario Kart: Koopa’s Challenge™

AR headset ride — you steer a physical kart through mixed-reality Mario Kart tracks and throw shells at enemies. Duration: ~8 min.

  • Express Pass gives you a specific time window to use the express lane
  • Photography not allowed during the ride; photo kiosk at exit

Yoshi’s Adventure™

Aerial ride through Yoshi’s Island following a treasure map. Lower intensity, great for photos from above the Nintendo World area. Express Pass included.

Mine Cart Madness™

The newest Nintendo World ride (Mine-Cart). Express Pass included in this specific pass type (“Minecart & Selection”).

Power-Up Bands (Optional)

Wristbands (~¥4,000 each) that sync with interactive elements — tap pipes, walls, boss stations to collect coins and fight mini-bosses. Buy at the Nintendo World shop or in the app. Not required but adds a game layer between rides.

Wizarding World

Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey™

Motion simulation ride through Hogwarts castle. Express Pass included, no time restriction — use anytime. Can be morning or after the Nintendo block.

Flight of the Hippogriff™

Outdoor roller coaster — 18:20–18:50 window on Express Pass. Views of the castle; short but thrilling. Queue moves fast with Express Pass.

Hogsmeade Village

Butterbeer (hot, cold, or frozen), Ollivanders wand shop, Honeydukes, Three Broomsticks. Best browsed after Express Pass rides when lines ease.

📷 Photography Prep

Day Carry: Phone only — leave the Fuji at the house; locker hassle + crowds + no tripod make it the wrong tool for this environment Recipe: N/A — phone camera; standard vivid mode handles the park’s saturated themed environments well Also: If bringing the Fuji anyway: C1 Herzawg’s Portra for daytime group moments; C3 Teal Nights for evening parade lighting (~7:00–8:00 PM) Best Time: Morning 8:00–10:00 AM — outdoor areas before midday crowds; Hogsmeade and Nintendo World look best in early light before the afternoon crowd peak Light: Morning outdoor light is the only meaningful window; indoor attractions are fully artificial — phone handles these best Focus On: Group moments at Mario arch; Hogwarts castle scale from the approach; Nintendo World area aesthetics; evening parade lighting if staying until close Restrictions: ⚠️ Indoor ride photography prohibited on most attractions — Mario Kart has an exit photo kiosk; ask crew at each attraction before shooting · no tripods anywhere in park Entry: 💴 ¥10,400 Studio Pass · ¥16,800–18,500 Express Pass 7 (per person) — both pre-purchased via KLOOK ✅ → Photo Journey Guide · Fuji Recipes
